Brief overview of program: The Fisheries Technology program prepares students for employment in a variety of fisheries occupations with emphasis on fish culture and aquaculture. The program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree or a certificate in Fisheries Resources. The Fisheries Technology program operates the Whatcom Creek Hatchery at the Maritime Heritage Center in Bellingham. The hatchery provides an actual work site for the instructional “laboratory.” This complements the classroom theory and related instruction components. The Fisheries Technology program operates in partnership with several regional and statewide industries and agencies.
