For the students that enter the workforce, what are the most common occupations that they pursue with this degree or certificate? MedTech training provides the students with the additional skills of a Diver Medic. These skills enhance employment opportunities for students desiring to work in the diving industry. The Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) recommends at least one qualified Diver Medic per shift on every commercial diving operation.
Students also qualify to sit for the certified hyperbaric technician exam to become CHTs by the NBDHMT after completing additional chamber operation hours outside of the coursework.
Some states and federal agencies require that an individual be 18 years of age to be qualified for licensure or certification. Certain felony convictions could impact certification as a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and Diver Medical Technician.
